Children's Hope Ministry

Antioch Church had a fall festival Saturday, September 28, 2019.  Fourteen children attended.  Our children, and their supporting parents, are starting to show interest of coming to church services either here at Hutchison or Antioch.  This is something that we can't ignore and a lot of parents don't have their own transportation.  Please continue to pray for this very important ministry!

Tuesday, August 13, 2019, our Trailer Park Ministry began.  PLEASE NOTE:  change of day of the week for this school year!  If you would like to help out, please contact Judy Wade.

June 3-6, 2019, we conducted Vacation Bible School for our Turfland Trailer Park and any other children who came.  Because of the heat, we had our VBS held at the Antioch Church Monday thru Wednesday, with a cook-out on Thursday here at Hutchison Church.  Officer Andrew Detton, of the Paris City Police Department, gave a class on safety at VBS.  He allowed the kids in his patrol car and turned on the lights for them!

Since March 2018, Hutchison UMC in partnership with Antioch Christian and Hopewell Presbyterian Churches, has provided weekly healthy snacks to 29 preschool/elementary and 15 middle/high schoolers for a total of 44 children at a local rural trailer park as they came off their school bus once a week.  This trailer park is located out in the county where these children do not have access to churches or other programs in Paris. Anyone wanting to help or donate food, clothes or hygiene items please contact Judy Wade at (859) 435-0037!  This is a fun ministry for all!

-------------------------------------

Starting the month of June 2018, our church held an “on site” Bible School one day a week just prior to the arrival of the Federally funded lunch bus that comes to feed 34 children. Our church volunteers set up tents and chairs to provide drinks during Bible School. Snacks and crafts are handed out afterwards. When Bible School had finished up our church has been making trips to hand out snacks on Fridays as the lunch bus does not come during the weekend.

Mark 10:13-14  People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them.  When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.  He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
